The Faculty of Biomedical Engineering was established as the seventh faculty of the Czech Technical University in Prague in May 2005. It continues main activities of the research oriented Centre for Biomedical Engineering and Institute for Biomedical Engineering that were also constituents of the CTU. It comprises four teaching departments located at Kladno (Department of Biomedical Technology, Department of Biomedical Informatics, Department of Natural Science and Department of Medicine and Humanities) and research laboratories in the Joint Research Centre of the Czech Technical University and the Charles University in Prague-Albertov. The Faculty offers an interdisciplinary education on BSc, MSc and PhD levels and educates new professionals and specialists in the most important fields of biomedical and clinical engineering. It also provides conditions for research and scientific work. The FBME cooperates with all other faculties of the Czech Technical University, with Academy of Science CR and several medical institutions in the Czech Republic.

How to get to Kladno
The intercity bus stop Nádraží Veleslavín is located on Evropská Street close to subway and tram stop Nádraží Veleslavín. Buses run from 7 am to 9:00 am approximately every 5–10 minutes, then every 15 minutes. Travelling to Kladno takes about 30 minutes. You should get off a bus at Sítná and cross the street.
