Medical Instrumentation

The mentioned study specialization has aims to focus the student profile in medical instrumentation and related areas. Emphasis is placed on understanding the physical principles of the various categories of medical devices and related properties and parameters, including the ability to assess the degree of risk to the patient. Very important in understanding the applications of medical instrumentation has the appearance of knowledge from biology, anatomy and physiology in particular. In terms of representation of individual disciplines are the following categories: the application of electromagnetic fields in medicine, especially in therapy (hyperthermia), diagnostic and therapeutic devices used most frequently in clinical practice, basic design and construction of selected blocks of medical devices, selection methods and apparatus of the clinical laboratory equipment, medical devices for anesthesia and resuscitation and finally applications of lasers in medicine. Lectures are supplemented by laboratory exercises on real equipment used in clinical practice, especially in the workplace simulated ICU. Focus includes a section dedicated to student work on the project, which is part of the thesis and the study of languages, especially Czech. After completing the courses within the study specialization students will be able to focus fully and independently work on a thesis topic in the laboratories of faculty or other external cooperating workplaces, including health facilities (hospitals).
